How to Make Your Rustic Décor Sizzle and Pop

January 9th, 2012

Do you have a beautiful home that is designed to be rustic? Have you always wanted ‘special’ lighting to complement and enhance your decor? You don’t know exactly what that is, but you haven’t seen it yet?

Deer antler chandeliers are perfect. They are eye catching and quite beautiful in a rustic setting. Chandeliers made from deer antlers range in style from simple to very intricate. There are so many choices that you can find one that would be perfect for any room in the house. The most popular room for antler chandeliers is the living room. This is the room that your guests will see first when they enter your home. The chandelier is eye catching, and gives an immediate impression of warmth, comfort and beauty.

Where do they get these antlers? Dining room chandeliers are made in a manner that the live animal is not harmed. The antlers are obtained from the forest floor after the animal has shed them. They are graded for quality, if there are major defects; the antlers are not used in a lighting fixture. The defective antlers are used to make other home décor items such as wine bottle holders, end tables, table lamps and chairs. The use of a chandelier made from antlers ties it all together.

When purchasing an item made from antlers, be sure that you are getting real antlers. Some companies sell synthetic (man made) antlers. These just lack something; instead of being beautiful they end up looking cheap.

If you live in ‘huntin’ country’ (or an area that is frequented by deer), and are creative you can get antlers from the woods that have been shed, or maybe small antlers that a hunter does not want. Then you can start to create your own décor pieces. (All of the information on ‘how to work with antlers’ can be found on the Internet). You may even be able to start your own business selling items that you have created!
